Walt Disney's Lady and the Tramp (The Sketchbook Series , No 6)
Published in Hardcover by Applewood Books (November, 1998)
Authors: Frank Thomas, Walt Disney, Ollie Johnston, Ward Greene, Disney Studios, and Ward Kimball
Average review score:

Disney's Sketchbooks - Great Resource for Artists!
This fine addition to the Disney Sketchbook series has many of the wonderful sketches done by Disney's animation department for Lady and the Tramp, including many pieces from the storyboards, and several sketches of scenes that never made it into the final film.

Artists that would like to study the Disney style of drawing and animation should find this volume a terrific addition to their collection despite its rather high price. As a student of art, and a fan of the Disney style, I highly recommend any of these books for your library.

A must-have for animation fans!
The Lady & the Tramp sketchbook is just a beautiful book to add to any Disney fan's collection. This book is HUGE and it is full of wonderful sketches of all of the characters (even minor ones) and full color photos from the movie. This is an excellent book for anyone who loves Disney animation.

"Cat" Whispers To You
I first read Norma Johnstons novel, "Whisper of the cat", when i was 12 years old. Now that i am a freshman in college, I am still obsessed with it. The very name Bonne Esperance sends chills down my spine. The suspence in this novel is killer. The mystery mixed with the developing relationship between Tracy and Mark, is enough to make you keep turning the pages untill there aren't any left. If you love a good mystery, and you love a good romance---READ THIS BOOK!!! I don't care how old you are.

Still Good After 10 Years!
I had never heard of Norma Johnston before my twelfth birthday when I received 'Whisper of the Cat' from my aunt. However, it was the best mystery and suspense novel I had ever read! I could not put it down until I had read the book from cover to cover. There are so many twists and a little romance to spice up the story plot. I am 22 years old now and I end up reading 'Whisper of the Cat' every now and again and it is still as suspenseful and mysterious as the very first time I read it. I guarantee you that if you read this, you will not be disappointed!

Work Miracles: Transform Yourself and Your Organization
Published in Paperback by Insight Press (01 August, 1999)
Authors: Stephen K. Hacker, Marta C. Wilson, and Cindy S. Johnston
Average review score:

Practical, how-to guide to bring humanism to the workplace.
There are many books espousing to have the silver bullet for all that ails our workplaces and our organizations. But most fail to address the core reason beneath the symptons represented by what we call performance gaps. This book goes to the core reason, to the missing element in most of our workplaces - humanism. It provides practical step-by-step methods to bring back that missing link. It is easy to read and chock full of useful applications.

Dave Pendlum, Alexandria, VA

This book worked miracles for me!
My life was changed by the contents of this book. From now on my perspective on how to create the organization I want to work in has gone from the realm of the theoretical to the practical. I know it can be done now and know just how to go about doing it. There is hope. The book is written in a clear and concise manner allowing the reader to easily follow the line of thinking of the authors. I found the examples given to be moving and I could readily relate to them. I've already begun to use the techniques outlined and have been exceedlingly impressed by the changes I've seen in my organization.

The World Economy: A Millennial Perspective (Oecd Development Centre Studies)
Published in Paperback by O E C D (May, 2001)
Authors: Angus Maddison, Donald Johnston, Organisation for Economic Cooperation, and Jorge Braga De Macedo
Average review score:

Classic
Attempting to put numbers on past economic activity is a deeply fraught exercise, as the author freely admits.

That being said, this is a book full of useful information and striking estimates. I know of no better place to get a genuine feel for the economic history of the last millennia, but particularly the last two centuries. There is something to startle or surprise anyone within these pages. A necessary edition to the library of anyone seriously interested in history.

a good book
This book is seemingly a culmination of the painstaking works taken by Angus Maddison for decades. As I liked his previous works such as the Phases of Capitalist Development, so I like this book very much. Of course, the book contains many 'guesstimations' that are unacceptable to today's economists' rigor. This is more so when the author ventures into almost two millenia before 1820, for which he did relatively little work previously. But even here the book apparently provides reasonable figures synthesizing existing evidences with a lucid interpretation, providing illuminating starting points for future studies.

Admission Accomplished : The Lesbian Nation Years, 1970-75 (High Risk Books)
Published in Paperback by Serpent's Tail (April, 1998)
Author: Jill Johnston
Average review score:

Vintage Jill Johnston!
One cannot thank Serpent's Tail enough for making this most significant, vital and hugely entertaining collection of writings by Jill Johnston available. Hers was a voice of assurance, rage, inspiration and intelligence that gave an entire generation the incentive to declare and be proud of our lesbian identity. More than any other writer from this era, Johnston was a trail-blazer, a lone voice in the early Stonewall period, before Lesbian chic and Queer theory. Revisiting these weekly columns, published in the Village Voice during the early to mid-seventies, one is dazed by her clarity and wisdom, her empowering and insightful observations, the sheer speed and force of her writing, and the breadth of her experience and knowledge. It is reassuring to find that the impact and tremendous shifts experienced by us who partook in the second wave of the (real) women's movement are as stupendous as we recall. I recommend that all the "straight" feminists writing about us in their queer theories immerse themselves in The Comingest Womanifesto, sample Dyke Nationalism & Heterosexutility, or The March of the Real Women. Vintage Jill Johnston!

In Johnston's current incarnation as critic and (auto)biographer, we must be grateful that the forces that rule have not been able to shut down this enormously talented, creatively inventive and brilliant author. Her integrity and passions are alive, and her writing has retained its seething vigor despite being properly punctuated and paragraphed.

Admission Accomplished should be required reading on any Women's Studies and/or Queer Studies syllabus. On a clear day, you might be lucky enough to read Jill Johnston.
